Home remedy for perioral dermatitis utilizes a series of natural ingredients to target the source of the irritation. These include aloe vera, a gel from the aloe vera plant, honey, tea tree oil, vitamin E oil, and avocado extract. The aloe vera gel contains a substance called "aloe," which is what the aloe vera plant is known for, and it serves to moisturize the dry skin that is irritated.
The honey acts as an antioxidant, fighting free radicals in the body, and the tea tree oil is excellent at fighting bacterial infection.
Yogurt
Yogurt is a great remedy for people who are suffering from perioral dermatitis or who have the common cold. The natural acidity of the yogurt will help soothe your irritated skin.
The beneficial bacteria in the yogurt will kill off the fungus causing the skin irritation. To apply, you only need to soak a tampon in the yogurt and then insert it into the affected area.
Natural Oils
One of the home remedies for perioral dermatitis that has been proven to be effective is tea tree oil. This natural oil contains curative properties and antiseptic properties. It is easy to use and you only need to dilute the oil.
To use it, you simply have to apply a few drops of the oil to the affected area at least once a day. Tea tree oil helps in controlling the itching and irritation, but it is best used at the first sign of inflammation.
Natural Antiseptic Oils
Another home remedy for the condition involves the use of natural antibacterial oils.
